Americas · USA — Atlanta Chapter
Harnessing the talent, resources and unity of Nigerians in the diaspora toward the economic and social development of Nigeria.
In the late 1990s, deliberations between former Nigerian President H.E. Olusegun Obasanjo and Nigerian professionals in Atlanta focused on harnessing the talent of Nigerians abroad for Nigeria's development — giving birth to NIDO Americas.
Incorporated as a non‑profit in 2000–2001 in Washington DC, NIDO is the single body recognized by the Federal Government of Nigeria as the umbrella organization for Nigerians in the diaspora, with all foreign missions mandated to support its development.
